Sight glasses are used in high-speed mixing systems for two reasons. First, they allow visual inspection of the blending process to ensure that there are no malfunctions. Secondly, they give the operator a visual indicator of when the operation will be complete. This is helpful when a manual control response, such as closing a valve, is required.
Full view sight glasses are constructed in clear, high-density, abrasion-resistant, moulded urethane. They come standard with grooved, clamp-style connections and can be adjusted with flanged adapters to fit easily into any standard piping. The six-inch models are offered in standard and 45-degree elbow versions, and 6 x 4-inch reducers are available as well.
