On the 5th of May, the Dutch people celebrate freedom. The Dutch nation was liberated, from the german occupation, mostly by Canadian troops. On 5 May 1945 the Canadian General Charles Foulkes and the German Commander-in-Chief Johannes Blaskowitz reached an oral agreement on the capitulation of Germany in Hotel De Wereld in Wageningen. One day later, the capitulation document was signed in the auditorium of the Agricultural University located next to the hotel.
We forward freedom from generation to generation. This is important for us, especially because not all people around the world can live in freedom. Together we are responsible for maintaining freedom. Therefore we commemorate and remember the war victims on the 4th of May and celebrate our freedom on the 5th of May.
All the best, from the complete Lion Bulk Handling Team and partners.
