Lion successfully completed, in close cooperation with its partners, a discharge supervision and bulk handling system evaluation of an 14.000 DWT Floating Storage and truck loading terminal.
This floating terminal is built in 2008. The barge will operate in the European waters for the storage of Cement. Lion made a system evaluation for future upgrade of the bulk handling system for the new owner, to improve the performance and reliability of the unloading process.
The Bulk Handling System is capable of discharging feeder vessels at a rate of 9500+/- tons per day into its own 4 fluidization floor holds, with a total storage capacity of about 14,000 tons. To discharge to shore the terminal is connected by an air slide system to the four truck loading systems, which are capable of loading four bulk vehicles 50 tons per hour. The terminal will be used as a permanent complex and as an interim terminal.
The bulk handling system on board the floating terminal is now in full operation. Do you need any assistance for your bulk handling system, please feel free to contact us. For more information please check our earlier blog post on bulk handling topics.
