Once bulk powders stands still for a longer period of time and it is needed to be transported, each material has its own angle of repose or where it start moving “breaking”. In the case below this material has its angle of 45 degrees;
This means once we try to convey this, it is required to gain an angle of at least 45 degrees allowing the material to move (glides) itself by gravity towards a lower direction (called freely flow):
By adding fluidization technics this angle can be reduced back to even as low as 8 degrees and can therefore glide the material over more distance within the same vertical height difference.
Using and implementing this technology is easy in nice flat surfaces like: vessel-, silo- or dome- floors. However once we come into the equipment of smaller cone shaped silos/hoppers or constructions with difficult corner designs, the cargo particles settles with more chance on bridging, ratholing and compacting while try to aerate.
The “vibration pad” is than a perfect tool to overcome such difficulties while using only air and comes within a wide range of designs, but basically they are loosens up the material allowing it to flow again on strategic locations in the storage constructions. Whereas each supplier has its own unique configuration they all have in common being;
